What is Rosa
Rosa is a unique massage oil developed to act as a restorative aid from the stress and fatigue of racing and training. Rosa is blended from nine specific oils, all of which we have chosen to help your mental balance and physical recovery. Each bottle of Rosa is blended and bottled by us individually, in small batches, to ensure the quality and longevity of each bottle.

How to use Rosa
If this is the first time you have used a product of this nature it is good to begin by massaging a generous amount of Rosa into your muscles after you shower or bath and then again at the end of day.

One of the main benefits of Rosa (as an aid to relaxation) is the presence of Lavender and Geranium essential oils. Add a few drops of Rosa to a bath or rub a very small amount directly onto the sides of your head before sleep to benefit from the unique sedating and relaxing properties of these oils.

Rosa is suitable for all skin types and can also be used as a general body oil when you simply want to moisturise or refresh your skin at anytime of the day.

For external use only. Keep away from eyes. Do not use if sensitive to the ingredients or pregnant. Always test on a small area of skin first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m not an athlete, can I use your oils?
A: Yes. If you have a body then you can use our oils. Our oils are there to help people overcome stress and fatigue, or prepare themselves for exercise and the day ahead. We all need and experience these things, so, our oils are suitable for everyone. We have cyclists, runners, climbers, mountaineers, artists, chefs, builders, teachers, writers, parents and their children all using our oils, so please feel free to add yourself to that list.

Q: I am pregnant, can I use your oils?
A: There is little to no research on the effects of essential oils on pregnant women. Therefore until we can be satisfied that our oils are completely safe for pregnant women, our advice is unfortunately no. However consulting your doctor may help you make a decision for yourself as to if you would like to try them.

Q: What is the best way to use your products?
A: If you've ever used sun tan lotion or moisturiser then you know how to use our oils. Each oil comes in a small bottle with a pump applicator. It is as simple as pumping two-three measures into your hands, warming the oil, by slowly rubbing your hands together, and then, carefully apply the oil to your skin and muscles wherever you ache. Rosa, our first oil to be available, has many calming essential oils in the blend so it is best used at the end of a training session or at the end of the day when you are trying to relax, or when you find that you are particularly tense.

Q: Can I use your products on my young children?
A: We don't recommend using products containing essential oils on infants under 6 months of age. Essential Oils are powerful and while we have used essential oils in safe dilutions, we feel they are a bit too strong for newborns. Always do what you feel is right for your family, and anyone that might be sensitive to essential oils.

Q: What are the benefits of your products, why should I use them?
A: With Rosa we have collected nature’s most beneficial oils in one blend. The renowned properties of these oils are far reaching. With great pain-relieving properties, Rosa is rich in Vitamin E and many of the essential oils used are anti-bacterial and anti-septic, making Rosa a great product to use after shaving your legs or after a heavy training session. They can help stabilise your mood, help ease insomnia and anxiety and have been known to help with the symptoms of stress. We personally hand-blend every single bottle of Rosa, so we know exactly what goes into each bottle, nothing is made off site in a factory and our batches are kept small to ensure the quality and longevity of each bottle. When you buy a bottle of our oil you are buying a unique product directly from the makers who have control over every aspect of the production.

Q: Do you only sell online?
A: At the moment yes we only sell online. We make very small batches usually limited to 50-80 bottles and are new to the market. If you are a shop owner and would like to stock our oils please contact polly@palermoracing.com

Rosa Recovery Oil Ingredients (in alphabetical order)

Castor Oil
Castor oil is 90 percent Ricinoleic Acid. It is naturally anti-bacterial, analgesic and anti-fungal and is rich in Vitamin E, Minerals, Proteins, and Omega 6&9 beneficial fatty acids. It is an excellent skin emollient and is a tremendous help when treating severely rough and dry skin.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptol, which accounts for up to 90% of Eucalyptus Essential oil has anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Eucalyptus is well known for its ability to fight bacterial, viral and fungal infections and to help clear the respiratory tract. It is renowned for its ability to relieve pain and reduce inflammation, boost mental clarity and promote relaxation of tense muscles, which is helpful when you are suffering from stress or exhaustion. These results seem to be most pronounced when eucalyptus oil is combined with peppermint oil (as found in Rosa).

Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra Virgin Olive oil is filled with enormously beneficial compounds including Vitamin E, Polyphenols and Phytosterols, Hydroxytyrosol and Tyrosol, Extra Virgin Olive oil is the most important and fundamental oil used in every product we make and with each batch we strive to use the purest form of cold pressed extra virgin Italian olive oil we can find.

Geranium Essential Oil
Geranium Essential oil is exceptionally anti-inflammatory and is one of the best oils for dermatological problems such as congested skin, eczema and dermatitis. It is used traditionally to uplift mood and to stabilise emotional balance. In aromatherapy it is used to treat acne, anxiety, depression and insomnia as well as to balance hormones and heal wounds, incisions and irritations to the skin.

Grapeseed Oil
Grapeseed oil is a popular oil used in massage therapy because it spreads easily and penetrates your skin quickly. Grapeseed oil is ideal for all skin types, including oily skin that needs moisturising.

Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender oil has a chemically complex structure with over 100 active constituents. The oil is used in our Rosa blend because it is well known for its pain relieving properties and therapeutically it is very useful for treating insomnia, anxiety, depression and stress.

Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint oil is one of the most versatile essential oils. It can be used to address a number of health concerns, from muscles aches, to low energy and digestive complaints. It’s also commonly used to boost energy levels and improve both skin and hair health. It’s valued for its cooling effects and helps to relieve sore muscles when used topically. In addition to this, peppermint essential oil displays anti-microbial properties.

Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tea tree oil is well-known for its powerful anti-septic properties and ability to treat wounds, skin issues and skin infections. Tea tree’s primary active ingredients include terpene hydrocarbons, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. It is these compounds that give Tea tree its anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal activity. There are over 100 different chemical components of tea tree oil — terpinen-4-ol and alpha-terpineol are the most active. The hydrocarbons found in the oil are considered capable of traveling through air, pores of the skin and mucus membranes and therefore can help kill germs, fight infections and soothe skin conditions.

Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - In Sunflower Seed Oil
Tocopherol is a natural Vitamin E in one of the purest forms. Here it is mixed with Sunflower Seed Oil. Although not a preservative, Tocopherol plays a very important part in our blends as the natural antioxidant properties stop peroxides from forming in essential oils which can be harmful to the skin and subsequently ensure the freshness and quality of products. Tocopherol slows oxidisation and penetrates through the skin to the living cells, where about 5% is converted to free tocopherol and provides beneficial antioxidant effects.

Please Note
Geraniol, Linalool, Limonene and Citral are all chemical compounds found naturally in the essential oils of Rosa. We list them here and on the label because people can be allergic to them in high quantities. Rosa is independently assessed and given a CPSR licence to make sure the level of these compounds fall within the standard range set for the requirements of EU Regulation 1223/2009 and the IFRA standards and is completely safe to use.
