What is Verde
?
If Rosa is our end of day oil then Verde is our start of the day oil. Verde Muscle Preparation oil is a unique massage oil that has been specifically developed to help energise and prepare the athlete before racing and training and aid as part of their warm up routine.

How to use Verde
If this is the first time you have used a product of this nature aim to spend five minutes massaging a generous amount of Verde into your muscles before you leave the house and start your warm up. The unique ingredients have been blended to help prepare you for your warm-up and to wake up your senses as part of your pre-training ritual.
Please note We have deliberately made Verde without a warming agent (something that many manufacturers of warm-up products use to give a false sense of warmth on application). The reason for this is because Verde should never be used as a substitute for a thorough warm-up, but rather as an aid to ease you into motion.

Verde is suitable for all skin types. For external use only. Keep away from eyes. Do not use if sensitive to the ingredients or pregnant. Always test on a small area of skin first. Each bottle of Verde is blended and bottled by us individually, in small batches, to ensure the quality and longevity of each bottle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’m not an athlete, can I use your oils?
A: Yes. If you have a body then you can use our oils. Our oils are there to help people overcome stress and fatigue, or prepare themselves for exercise and the day ahead. We all need and experience these things, so, our oils are suitable for everyone. We have cyclists, runners, climbers, mountaineers, artists, chefs, builders, teachers, writers, parents and their children all using our oils, so please feel free to add yourself to that list.

Q: I am pregnant, can I use your oils?
A: There is little to no research on the effects of essential oils on pregnant women. Therefore until we can be satisfied that our oils are completely safe for pregnant women, our advice is unfortunately no. However consulting your doctor may help you make a decision for yourself as to if you would like to try them.

Q: What is the best way to use Verde?
A: If you've ever used sun tan lotion or moisturiser then you know how to use Verde. Each oil comes in a small bottle with a pump applicator. It is as simple as pumping two-three measures into your hands, warming the oil, by slowly rubbing your hands together, and then, carefully apply the oil to your skin and muscles for a few minutes before you begin your warm up.

Q: Can I use your products on my young children?
A: We don't recommend using products containing essential oils on infants under 6 months of age. Essential Oils are powerful and while we have used essential oils in safe dilutions, we feel they are a bit too strong for newborns. Always do what you feel is right for your family, and anyone that might be sensitive to essential oils.

Q: What are the benefits of Verde, why should I use it?
A: With Verde we have collected nature’s most stimulating oils in one blend. The purpose of Verde is to aid your warm up before you begin racing or training. By massaging your muscles with Verde for a few minutes before you start an active warm up it can aid initial blood flow to your muscles and helping you ease into activity in a more supple and prepared state.

Q: Do you only sell online?
A: At the moment yes we only sell online. We make very small batches usually limited to 50-80 bottles and are new to the market. If you are a shop owner and would like to stock our oils please contact polly@palermoracing.com

Verde Muscle Preparation Oil Ingredients (in alphabetical order)

Camphor Essential Oil

Camphor Essential Oil has a distinctively sharp, camphoraceous and woody undertone which is instantly recognisable in sports preparation oils. It is a powerful oil which is associated with cleansing in vapour treatments. Camphor essential oil is balancing to the body and can create a feeling of Euphoria by releasing tension and congestion. Extracted from the Cinnamomum Camphora of the Lauraceae family. The camphor tree grows up to 35 meters (over 100ft!) in height, with many of the oil producing trees in excess of 50 years old.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptol, which accounts for up to 90% of Eucalyptus Essential oil has anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Eucalyptus is well known for its ability to fight bacterial, viral and fungal infections and to help clear the respiratory tract. It is renowned for its ability to relieve pain and reduce inflammation, boost mental clarity and promote relaxation of tense muscles, which is helpful when you are suffering from stress or exhaustion. These results seem to be most pronounced when eucalyptus oil is combined with peppermint oil (as found in Rosa).

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Extra Virgin Olive oil is filled with enormously beneficial compounds including Vitamin E, Polyphenols and Phytosterols, Hydroxytyrosol and Tyrosol, Extra Virgin Olive oil is the most important and fundamental oil used in every product we make and with each batch we strive to use the purest form of cold pressed extra virgin Italian olive oil we can find.

Grapeseed Oil

Grapeseed oil is a popular oil used in massage therapy because it spreads easily and penetrates your skin quickly. Grapeseed oil is ideal for all skin types, including oily skin that needs moisturising.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender oil has a chemically complex structure with over 100 active constituents. The oil is used in our Rosa blend because it is well known for its pain relieving properties and therapeutically it is very useful for treating insomnia, anxiety, depression and stress.

Menthone Glycerin Acetal

Menthone Glycerin acetal is a colourless liquid used as an active cooling agent. It creates a strong, long-lasting sensation of skin icing, skin freshness and skin cooling. Menthone glycerin acetal is an excellent and more effective alternative to Menthol as it is non-irritating and compatabile with a wide pH (6.5 - 12). It has low odour and is in a clear liquid. It quickly provides a cooling and icing effect to the skin.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint oil is one of the most versatile essential oils. It can be used to address a number of health concerns, from muscles aches, to low energy and digestive complaints. It’s also commonly used to boost energy levels and improve both skin and hair health. It’s valued for its cooling effects and helps to relieve sore muscles when used topically. In addition to this, peppermint essential oil displays anti-microbial properties.

Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - In Sunflower Seed Oil

Tocopherol is a natural Vitamin E in one of the purest forms. Here it is mixed with Sunflower Seed Oil. Although not a preservative, Tocopherol plays a very important part in our blends as the natural antioxidant properties stop peroxides from forming in essential oils which can be harmful to the skin and subsequently ensure the freshness and quality of products. Tocopherol slows oxidisation and penetrates through the skin to the living cells, where about 5% is converted to free tocopherol and provides beneficial antioxidant effects.

Please Note:
Geraniol, Linalool and Limonene are all chemical compounds found naturally in the essential oils of Verde. We list them here and on the label because people can be allergic to them in high quantities. Verde is independently assessed and given a CPSR licence to make sure the level of these compounds fall within the standard range set for the requirements of EU Regulation 1223/2009 and the IFRA standards and is completely safe to use.
